A full inbox or a long chapter can make reading feel like a race. Speed gives you a controlled way to explore pace while keeping understanding in the task. Text is presented at a rate you choose, and the questions afterward check what you took away.
Begin with a pace at which you can follow the message. You can adjust the presentation speed and the number of words shown together. Use Pause when you need a break, then continue when you are ready. A higher setting makes the display more demanding; the number alone does not tell you how well you understood the passage.
Notice what happens to the main point, supporting details and connections as you change the challenge. If you can keep up with the display but lose the argument, use that as feedback. Try a setting that lets you follow both the words and their meaning.
The everyday aim is a purposeful balance between covering material and keeping what matters. A routine update and a difficult explanation may call for different attention. This exercise lets you explore a chosen pace and check its result, rather than treat every text as a test of maximum speed.
